Josh (Joshim) Kakegamic, 1952-1993 was born in Sandy Lake in northern Ontario and along with his brothers, Goyce (also an artist) and Henry, established the Triple K Co-operative, a silk-screening and printing operation, in Red Lake ON. This operation was an integral part of the emerging Woodland tradition of art in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Triple K printed their own art but also that of their brother-in-law, Norval Morrisseau, Carl Ray and others Unfortunately, Josh was lost in a snowmobile rescue attempt in 1993. The Wah-sa Gallery hosted its first single artist exhibition with Josh in the late 1970s and still makes available an art card produced as an invitation to that show.
