Lee Claremont was born in Woodstock ON of Mohawk and Irish ancestry and is a member of the Six Nations Reserve, Oshweken On.
She currently resides in Kelowna BC
In 2010 Lee received the Distinguished Alumni award from the Okanagan College where she was a graduate of the Fine Arts Program.
When she and Sandy first visited The Wah-sa Gallery in 2002, she asked to show her portfolio. After I closed her book after just a couple of pages, Lee looked crestfallen. I looked at her and boldly asked "When do we start?"
Lee's work has been celebrated throughout Canada and she is beginning to garner an international reputation. The national CUPE union has commissioned Lee to do the art work for a water project of the union.
